Fully inclusive sensory centre
for disabled and non-disabled people in knottingley
We know that you find it difficult to find a really good sensory place where you can chill and relax or bounce around and dance. That’s why we’ve created Sensory Planet Knottingley, it’s just for you and we think you’ll love it.
We’ve handpicked some fantastic equipment and designed our spaces very carefully. For a calming sensory experience, we have things that are soothing to watch with their gentle movement and changes in soft colours. Or if you’re after an interactive sensory experience, we have wall panels that change colour when touched, fibre optics bursting with colour, noisy stuff, bright stuff and practically indestructible stuff too.
The benefits of
a sensory room
Destress, relax and be calm
Stimulate your senses to make you happy
Explore the world around you
Develop your fine and gross motor skills like picking things up, stacking things, moving around or throwing
Practice your verbal and non-verbal communication skills
Who is sensory planet for?
Everyone.
But we know from our experience that some people can really reap the benefits of our sensory rooms. This includes people living with:
- a learning disability
- dementia
- autistic spectrum disorder
- cerebral palsy
- sensory integration difficulties
- pathological demand avoidance
- poor motor skills

What is a
sensory
room ?
It’s a space filled with a range of things (stimuli) to help you to engage with your senses in a safe environment.
You might also know them as Snoezelen rooms, controlled multi-sensory environments or immersive sensory experiences.
We’ve designed our rooms, Galactic Ultraviolet and Luna Interactive, with high-quality ROMPA equipment that creates different shapes, sounds, colours and lights. Everything you can see, touch and smell have been handpicked by our experienced team with you in mind.
